The Science and Technology Studies (STS) Lab is an interdisciplinary research group housed in the Department of Sociology of the University of São Paulo, dedicated to exploring the complex intersections between science, technology, and society. Our group brings together researchers, scholars, and practitioners across multiple disciplines to investigate how scientific knowledge and technological artifacts are shaped by (and actively reshape) social, cultural, political, and economic systems.

What guide our work

Identification
There are many people studying, teaching, doing research and/or actively interested in the field of STS at the University of São Paulo. Identify those scholars is of such importance to promote a sustainable future to this area.
Interdisciplinarity
STS should be interdisciplinary beyond the humanities and social sciences. We aim to engage our researchers with people from the Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), working at academia, government and industry.
Internationalization
Internationalization means allowing the global community of researchers to discovery, study and use results of our projects. We want to internationalize our work developed at USP with our colleagues abroad.
